It is simple in it’s make up but clever in its execution and throughout most of my time playing it, I just kept thinking how much fun this was.Ĭrimsonland was developed by 10tons Ltd, and released on the Xbox One in October 2015.

That is a very apt description though it is missing a few words, well one word actually, though it would need to be repeated many times to fairly represent the game. This whole game should serve as a 'what not to do' when making a twin stick shooter.Crimsonland is described as an intense, addictive and immensely gratifying top down shooter where your screen is filled with hundreds of aliens, spiders, mutants, lizards and more. I genuinely dislike these chucklehead devs having a laugh at our expense. Still I find it pretty ridiculous that you can go from barely getting 20K, to 40K, then suddenly you're on 90K because of chance. One should be right around the 50K mark, then there were two other on the way up to 90K. I'll save them at some point and post them. I do have a couple of xbox recordings I took of it. Hopefully this is a little more in depth as to the strategy of the 'corner' than others have commented saying worked for them. Once I figured out the bottom left corner worked and started to take more time with the order, I knew it would only be a matter of time. I tried everything from pattern button presses to rushing to telling the game to suck my fat d. This achievement took me literally days of playing for an hour here or hour there. Sometimes you might find if you have a small green circle on the bottom left, a large green circle one in from the bottom left, it allows you to put two red pentagons above them and then combines them to the left, then down, then left to wind up with a new green triangle in the bottom left. If you do have to move right or up and your most evolved piece moves, try and get it back to the bottom left, but take your time thinking about the moves. I sat there for a minute when I reached 49K just looking at what to do. This won't always be the same, but don't be afraid to take your time, literally.

Whereas pressing left first, evolves the bottom two, then pressing down evolves the last two. If you press down, you only evolve two of the triangles. Often you will have something like 3 triangles down and one triangle right of the three down. As you wind up with a group of pentagons that you can evolve.Īlso be aware of the left or right. This actually helps when trying to evolve green to green. It's OK for the board to fill up with pairs of things, then moving left or down and combining a whole bunch of them. SLOW DOWN.Īnother trick I found, don't always be in a rush to put the most evolved shapes together. Sometimes you get so excited that you can evolve and evolve and evolve that you do it too fast and forget about the little shapes. Sometimes they might seem stuck, but try not to box them in and eventually a small shape will come along and unstick it.

Unfortunately with this game being based on random chance, you won't win every scenario, especially when you're learning how to manipulate where to evolve shapes.īe wary of the little shapes. Once you have evolved red pentagons, you want them to line up so you can evolve two into a small green circle, then immediately evolve two small green circles into a bigger circle. The trick for reaching 53+K comes in trying to grid shapes. That alone will see most of you increase your scores. Preferably only do it when you really have to, or you can use the next shape to get a trapped shape more evolved. If you press up and/or right, you're taking a chance at putting a lesser evolved shape somewhere where it'll get stuck. Where pressing left and down changes a little is when you become familiar with the game and where you can place your next shape. If you play with the most evolved shape in the bottom left hand corner, ultimately you want to work the smaller shapes toward that corner. I imagine most people will get a few games around 45K and then mess themselves up based on partly random chance and partly moving the wrong blocks.Įssentially move the most evolved shape to the bottom left hand corner and NEVER press up.

I went from games with ~45K back to games with ~12K before calming down and nailing it. You should note, the next shape that will come in, sits on the right. Rushing might get you high scores initially, but you need to take your time to learn the shapes and how to progress. Just like the rest of the game, random generation means you could play for 5 minutes and get it or grind for days and still have nothing.
